About the program
The Master in Environmental Design and Engineering MSc trains students to tackle urgent environmental issues in the built environment with innovative, interdisciplinary thinking. Students will learn to adapt the built environment and make our buildings, towns and cities healthier, more sustainable places to live. Key areas of studies are indoor climate, ventilation, health and comfort, passive and net zero carbon design.
The programme is delivered through a combination of lectures, interactive seminars, individual and group tutorials, site visits and a field trip. Assessment is through unseen examination, coursework, and a dissertation. Group coursework assignments are an opportunity to work with fellow students from different academic backgrounds in multidisciplinary teams. The program consists of 3 terms, in the last one dissertation is completed and the student is awarded MSc degree, with 180 CAT completed. The program can be taken without the final research project, leading to a Postgraduate diploma with 120 credits completed.
