Local Works Studio was established in 2017 and brings an innovative approach to the design of landscapes and buildings, focusing on the creative and sustainable use of resources.

To undertake:

• Site material audits & pre-demolition audits
• Landscape scale mapping of materials, producers, infrastructure, skills
• Feasibility studies
• Material sourcing
• Managing material collection & processing
• Specification writing for bespoke products & processes
• Design of creative material solutions

Role requirements:

• In-depth knowledge of materials & their application in the built environment
• Well organised with excellent research skills
• Good graphic design & visual communication skills – In-design & Illustrator, basic CAD. GIS an advantage.
• Excellent written & verbal communication
• Understanding & enthusiasm for principles of circular economy & sustainable design
• Experience & good understanding of construction industry
• Good appreciation and knowledge of design & craft
• Approachable & comfortable speaking to wide range of trades & stakeholders
• Resourceful with excellent problem-solving ability
