The European Cultural Foundation (ECF) was created in 1954 with the vision of a united Europe where citizens feel
proudly European, a place where they can live, express themselves, work and dream freely, in diversity and harmony.
Ever since ECF promotes a European sentiment through developing and supporting cultural initiatives that let us share,
experience and imagine Europe. We believe our mission is as urgent as it was back then as there are still many
challenges which divide Europe, cause polarisation and bring about inequality.
About the role
We are looking for an interim Public Policy Manager – from 15 June to 31 December 2023 – for the EU funded project
CrAFt: Creating Actionable Futures: Making climate-neutral cities inclusive, beautiful and sustainable (Horizon
Europe). You will form a working tandem with ECF’s CrAFt Communications Manager. Your main task is to further
shape and develop the New European Bauhaus (NEB) Policy Support Alliance and produce its Policy Paper.
What will you be doing?
We are looking for an experienced and skilled Public Policy Manager who is passionate about bringing different
stakeholders together, drafting creative policy papers and campaigning. For this EU project, you will work closely
together with the eight project partners and the Communications and Public Policy team of ECF.
In particular, the Public Policy Manager will:
- Formalise, shape and coordinate the NEB Policy Support Alliance;
- Draft, gather input and finalise the policy paper together with NTNU (lead partner), CrAFt’s partners and the
Policy Support Alliance; - Draft a policy one pager with policy recommendations;
- Initiate and design workshops with our stakeholders at different European events, for example the Committee of the Regions, European Week of Cities and Regions, etc., in order to: mobilise and advocate for the Alliance and its policy objectives; collect further input, gather feedback and finalise the policy paper;
- Develop and organise online CrAFt sessions in September/October with the cultural and creative sectors and our CrAFt cities and community to exemplify how the NEB values can be integrated in cities to become climate neutral;
- Coordinate other policy actions and initiatives for CrAFt with our partners and stakeholders;
- Coordinate together with the Communications Manager ECF’s input to CrAFt.
