The Bergische Universität Wuppertal is a modern university in the heart of North Rhine-Westphalia. University was founded in 1972 and has three campuses.
About the program
Nachhaltiges und ressourcenschonendes Bauen Master course provides training of specialists and managers who can help shape and further develop the transformation process from a resource-intensive construction industry to a sustainable circular economy in the construction industry. Starting with sustainable project development, through integral building planning and construction, to the sustainable operation of properties. Legal principles, urban development and mobility aspects are covered as well as building materials and cycles in construction. Certification systems, life cycle costs (LCC) and digital transformation are also fundamental components of the program.
Studies are divided into attendance and self-learning phases. They consist of 57 study days in four weeks of attendance each year, in January, June, October and November of each year. All-day lectures and seminar events take place during these attendance weeks. The self-study phase includes study materials and project work that is worked on in a team over the course of the academic year. The learning results of the study letters are tracked through submission tasks. The course also includes two excursions. Each academic year ends with module examinations. The places in this course are limited to 24 spots. Program is taught in german and is worth 120 ECTS.
