Researcher /Project Manager

More about this position

We are looking to expand our team with 2 Researchers/ Project Managers with a background in architecture, urban design or planning, or similar professions. The successful applicants will work with our team’s portfolio of Mission-driven and New European Bauhaus-inspired projects, to design, implement and document:

  • Impact pathways (sequences of steps or processes through which an intervention, project, or policy achieves intended outcomes and unintended side effects) at the intersection of environmental, spatial, social, cultural, economic, governance and quality of life perspectives
  • Co-benefits (complementary, often unplanned positive effects that accompany the primary objectives of a project, making the initiative more impactful and beneficial in multiple dimensions, for different stakeholder groups)

NTNU Smart Sustainable Cities has a large portfolio of externally funded projects in collaboration with public authorities, private, cultural and creative sectors, and communities and grassroot organisations. We want to strengthen the team with 2 Researchers / Project Managers who can contribute to the CrAFt, NEB-STAR, Re-Value, Bauhaus Bites and ClimaGen projects (funded by Horizon Europe, EU Missions on Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities and Adaptation to Climate Change in cooperation with the New European Bauhaus). The Researchers / Project Managers will also contribute to the development and implementation of new strategic projects and activities in cities and communities, in support of the European Green Deal.

The projects of our team are largely based on multi-actor collaboration, including cross-sectoral co-creation with local and European partners from the public and private sectors, communities and grassroots initiatives, cultural and creative sectors, academia, NGOs, media and others. We are therefore looking for 2 Researchers / Project Managers who can combine the role of day-to-day project manager with the development and quality assurance of new co-creation-based knowledge and who can communicate this knowledge in scientific articles and public dissemination.

The positions are conditional on existing and future external funding.

The positions report to the Head of department.
