IOS Partners is collaborating with the Ethiopian Cultural Heritage Authority (EHA) to provide technical assistance for the implementation of the “Lalibela protection, restoration and development project” under the patronage of the Agence Française de Développement (AFD).
We are currently looking for a Deputy Team Leader, which requires:
– Knowledge of technical protection and restoration projects, project management at heritage sites, monitoring and reporting skills
– Experience in training, knowledge transfer, and capacity building
– Experience in consultation /communication
– At least 6 years of experience Post-graduate qualifications in the following fields are desirable: engineering, management of restoration, and valorisation of heritage site.
– Knowledge of English and Amharic
This is a full-time position based in Addis Ababa with immediate start and until mid-January 2025, with the possibility of extension for another three (3) more years based on project progress. While the position is based in the Client’s headquarters in Addis, the assignment’s focus is on the Lalibela UNESCO site and, provided that the security situation allows it, frequent travel will be expected to perform on-site missions.
The Deputy Team Leader will work with the rest of the IOS’ Team (Team Leader and Finance & Procurement specialist) and hand-in-hand with the EHA Team (Heads of Conservation, World Heritage, Finance and Procurement divisions) in the implementation of this project.
The overall aim of this assignment is to assist EHA with human and technical means for the effective management of the “Lalibela protection, restoration and development project”, and to assist with the management of the capacity building program for EHA staff.
