We’re thrilled to announce that the Urban Bootcamp is back for the second year running, and we’re looking for keen practitioners to present their research and participate in this brilliant event. Please see below for details –
If you would like to present your current research and join us for this edition of Urban Bootcamp, then please express your interest by preparing a 300 word abstract and a 200 word bibliography, and send it to the organising committee by email at barshas@unops.org by Thursday 6th February. Please also help us expand the reach of our call by sharing this with your networks! We look forward to hearing from you.
More about the project:
The Urban Bootcamp is part of the Cities 4 Women: Inclusive and Climate Resilient Urbanization in Nepal project, which aims to assist the challenges posed by rapid urban growth and increasing climate vulnerability by raising the demand for gender-responsive, climate-resilient public open spaces, piloting public urban infrastructure, enhancing the urban planning and design capacity of municipalities, and recommending policy reforms in the municipalities. The project is co-funded by the European Union, the Government of Finland, and USAID, and is being implemented in partnership by UNOPS, UN-Habitat and Cities Alliance, in the eight municipalities of Nepal.
To increase the national demand for inclusive and resilient public open spaces, the project collaborates with academia, providing opportunities to learn about participatory, inclusive design and climate resilient initiatives. Last year, the project successfully organized the first Urban Bootcamp to provide intensive learning opportunities to the urban planners, municipal engineers, and other key stakeholders.
