About the institution
The program forms part of the Erasmus Mundus European Cooperation Program and is located in Barcelona at the UIC Barcelona (Universitat Internacional de Catalunya). The faculty cooperates with renowned international professors from the field of humanitarian architecture and design and the emergency and development sectors, as well as collaborating institutions and INGO’s, including UN-Habitat.
About the program
The Master of International Cooperation Sustainable Emergency Architecture is ranked among the top 3 master degrees in Spain for the past 6 years. This program’s joint focus is international cooperation, sustainable urban development and emergency architecture that enables practitioners to manage projects with a holistic approach and ranging from the urban to the architectural scale. A 10-day fieldtrip is a part of the curriculum, as well as a mandatory internship with over 40 collaborating organisations, which provides the connections and experience needed to secure positions in top institutions working in areas of post-disaster, post-conflict and sustainable urban development.
The program consist of 3 terms, a course term, a thesis term and an internship. It is worth 60 ECTS. Students will also obtain a certificate from the partner organization IFRC (International Federation of Red Cross).
