About the institution

Iuav University of Venice (Italian: Università Iuav di Venezia) is a university in Venice, Italy. It is a design-themed university focusing on the teaching, research, and practice of the design of living spaces and environments and in the design of everyday use objects, of fashion and of graphics.

About the program

The U.Rise Master’s Degree in urban regeneration and social innovation is a second-level university master’s degree from the Iuav University of Venice. It trains professionals in urban and territorial regeneration, capable of bringing about positive change in space, institutions and society. U.rise is aimed at those who want to help generate positive change for the community and a change of territories and cities. The program was established in 2016 with the first 25 students. Since then, the training project has been growing, with new themes and perspectives to understand. There are opportunities for immersion in the different territories and learning and exchange starting from real challenges.

This program consist of specialization courses, theory classes and fieldwork. An internship is included in the curriculum of the program, alllowing students to join one of around 40 partners, made up of the most important Italian companies in the field of urban regeneration and social innovation.
