About the institution

Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule (ETH) Zürich, is a renowned Swiss Federal Institute of Technology located in Zurich, Switzerland. Established in 1855, ETH Zurich consistently ranks among the top universities globally for its cutting-edge research and academic excellence (7th in the world in QS world university rankings 2024). ETH Zürich has produced 32 Nobel laureates, including Albert Einstein.

About the program

The MAS ETH in Housing (MAS ETH HS) trains architects to understand and respond to the housing challenges within their broader socio-​economic, cultural, political, and urban context. Through an interdisciplinary approach, the MAS focuses on a wide range of housing strategies pursued by communities, governmental and non-​governmental agencies in different countries and contexts. It prepares architects to work in interdisciplinary and multicultural environments by putting people and their well-​being at the centre.

This program is taught full-time in the duration of 1 year, 2 year long studies are possible upon request. Language of instruction is english and languages of performance assessment are english, german, french and italian. 60 ECTS credits are divided in lectures, seminars, workshops, excursions, individual and groups exercises and consultations, an individual project, and a research-​​based MAS thesis.
