The Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU; Norwegian: Norges teknisk-naturvitenskapelige universitet) is a public research university in Norway and the largest in terms of enrollment. The university’s headquarters is located in Trondheim, with regional campuses in Gjøvik and Ålesund.
About the program
Urban Ecological Planning (UEP) is a practice-based program that enables students to develop skills and knowledge to address complex urban issues in rapidly changing social, cultural, political, and environmental contexts. The program focusses on participatory, inclusive, and developmental planning practice, and has an interdisciplinary approach to strategic spatial change. The UEP program focuses on the complex interdependence between people, institutions, and the built environment in pursuit of equity, efficiency, and sustainability.
The program is divided into four semesters, each totalling in 30 ECTS. The study plan is structured in terms of obligatory courses, electives, and fieldworks. First semester consists of obligatory fieldwork and courses, the second and third semester are focused on theory classes. Students partake in an internship or a second fieldwork in the fourth semester, while also focusing on the Master thesis.
