Only for students based in Netherlands: BYCS is seeking an enthusiastic Bicycle Mayor Network Intern to join our Amsterdam team. In this role, you will play a vital part in managing our Bicycle Mayor Network, including handling relationships with cycling advocates in 140+ cities, facilitating collaboration sessions, managing onboarding processes, developing digital communication campaigns, and assisting in global projects within the Bicycle Mayor Network. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain a holistic understanding of grassroots activism and its significance in achieving cycling-centric cities worldwide.

Responsibilities:

  • Building and managing relationships with network members
  • Fostering engagement and collaboration within the grassroots network
  • Interfacing with Bicycle Mayors on social media
  • Providing support for integral processes of the Bicycle Mayor Network, such as onboarding, offboarding, newsletter creation, and more.
  • Assisting in running local campaigns to grow the network
  • Tracking metrics and KPIs related to network quarterly goals

  • Coordinating a grassroots network in the field of urban mobility
  • Understanding how (I)NGO projects are developed, managed, and implemented
  • Participation in strategic planning and forward-thinking meetings

Qualities We Seek:

  • Educational background in Urban Studies, Urban Planning, Geography, Anthropology, Administration, Communication Studies, or Business
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, always seeking new connections between people and opportunities
  • Ability to establish and develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Comfort in a dynamic working environment
  • Ability to work independently with limited oversight
  • Interest in urban cycling and sustainable development
  • Experience (or ability to learn quickly) with digital tools including the Adobe Creative Suite, Mailchimp, Airtable, Asana, WordPress, and Google Drive.
  • Languages: Fluent English, Spanish is a plus
