The position seeks an individual passionate about designing and developing advanced information systems that support urban renaturing to enhance urban resilience. The role focuses on using digital technologies to transform the relationship between people and nature within cities. The project aims to explore how information systems can aid in the collaborative planning of Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) by integrating expert and local knowledge, fostering collaboration, and promoting a holistic approach.

The responsibilities include researching how information systems can support NBS planning, identifying key factors for their adoption, and developing an integrative spatial planning system to analyze and evaluate socio-ecological impacts. Additionally, the role involves creating a gamified platform for decision support, publishing research, coordinating activities, and contributing to the City Information Modelling research theme at the Information Systems in the Built Environment chair.

Candidates should have a master’s degree (or equivalent) in Earth or Environmental Sciences, Architecture, Planning, Engineering, or related fields, with experience in spatial analysis and urban environments. A research-focused mindset, programming skills (Python, C#, web development), and the ability to work within interdisciplinary teams are required. Fluency in English, good communication skills, and a positive, proactive attitude are essential.

The position offers full-time employment for four years, with teaching responsibilities. Salary and benefits are in accordance with Dutch university standards. The role is based at Eindhoven University of Technology, offering excellent research infrastructure, support, and a collaborative international environment.
