The Research Assistant role at TU Delft involves contributing to the “Co-JuST” project, which examines collaborative housing’s role in achieving sustainable, low-carbon transitions in the built environment. The project seeks to map collaborative housing efforts across Europe and analyze their potential to support decarbonization by assessing Whole Life Carbon (WLC) emissions. Due to a lack of aggregated data on collaborative housing, the project aims to build a comprehensive data platform, “CO-LAB MAPPING,” to visualize and analyze the potential environmental impact of collaborative living models.
Key tasks for the Research Assistant include liaising with European organizations to expand and improve data sets on collaborative housing, using both qualitative and quantitative methods to analyze the data, refining the CO-LAB MAPPING platform, and assisting with stakeholder workshops. Additional responsibilities involve co-authoring articles and creating outputs for various audiences.
Applicants should have a recent MSc or PhD in architecture or a related field, advanced research skills, experience with data analysis software, and fluency in English and Dutch. Familiarity with WLC and decarbonization approaches, along with data visualization and graphic design abilities, is also essential. The role offers a one-year contract, with a part-time workload of 24 hours per week, a competitive salary, pension, and additional benefits. Applications are open until 24 November 2024.
