United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) is seeking a Research Officer to join their team based in Barcelona. UCLG is a global network of local governments, representing over half of the world’s population, with the mission to promote democratic local self-government. The Research Officer will support the Research department in managing and implementing research projects related to localization strategies, equality, and sustainable development, and contribute to policy discussions and advocacy efforts.
Key responsibilities include collaborating with local governments and academic institutions, managing research projects, disseminating findings, and ensuring effective communication of research outcomes. The candidate will work closely with other UCLG teams to integrate research into broader projects and policies.
Ideal candidates should have a university degree in International Relations, Politics, Economics, or a related field, and at least two years of experience in local government or international cooperation. Strong research, communication, and project management skills are essential. Fluency in English and either French or Spanish is required.
