Eurocities is recruiting a trainee to work on topics linked to culture and cultural heritage with their culture team for 1 year (six months, renewable for another 6 months), ideally starting end of April 2025. The trainee will monitor policy initiatives and developments at EU level on topics such as cultural policies, cultural heritage, architecture and the built environment, the creative industries, culture and social inclusion, culture and sustainable development. Responsibilities include carrying out research, analysing policy documents, supporting the implementation of EU funded projects on culture, drafting briefing notes and articles for newsletters, updating web pages, contributing to the organisation of meetings, updating the members database, and providing general support to the culture team. The ideal candidate holds a university degree in culture or cultural management, has a keen interest in local cultural policies, possesses basic knowledge about cultural trends in the EU, and demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Other languages are an asset.
