KTH Royal Institute of Technology is seeking a doctoral student for a research project focused on implementing and optimizing reuse in building materials and components to balance economic and environmental benefits. The interdisciplinary project involves collaboration with various departments at KTH and engagement with construction and real estate stakeholders in Sweden. The research aims to explore how digital workflows can support stakeholders in decisions regarding the reuse of building materials and components, including processes for material inventory, quality assurance, and methods for analyzing the impact of reuse on costs, resource utilization, and carbon dioxide emissions. The doctoral student will be supervised by Associate Professors Kjartan Gudmundsson and Malena Havenvid and will have opportunities to study in a dynamic, international research environment, collaborate with industries and prominent universities worldwide, and engage in teaching within the department.
