A very special new role is open to applicants at Sylva Foundation’s Wood School in Oxfordshire. Do you have a passion for woodworking, furniture making, gender diversity and environmental sustainability?

Would you like to shape and lead a major three-year project aiming to increase the gender diversity of the heritage woodwork and furniture making sector?

Coordinating our Woodworking and Gender project is a great opportunity to make a difference, passing on knowledge, experience and skills, making a positive impact on the careers and lives of others.

We will work with you to bring the project to life:

· Connecting with young people, inspiring them to see their potential within the sector.

· Collaborating with employers and employees, supporting them to make changes within their workplace and workforce.

· Delivering projects that support female and non-binary makers including an innovative training course, summer schools, exhibitions, seminars and events.

Based in well-equipped workshops in Oxfordshire 10 miles south of Oxford, between Clifton Hampden and the Wittenham Clumps, our rural location provides a calm and peaceful place to work. You can walk through our Future Forest, explore our replica Anglo-Saxon house, join our vibrant community of makers, and work alongside an amazing team of woodworking professionals, foresters and others.

This is a full-time, on site position, and the role will require travelling to visit collaborative partners, therefore a full driving licence and access to a vehicle is preferred.
