This workshop aims to employ locally sourced natural materials and vernacular earthen building techniques in the design and building of a small open-air theatre performance space for the local community. It will take place in tandem with a theatre workshop and the two groups will share workshop facilities and accommodation space. This design & build workshop will allow participants to work in groups during the design process, while getting feedback from the theatrical team in order to understand their requirements. The open–air performance stage that will be built, will host the theatre performance at the end of the workshop. The workshop is open to architects, engineers, artists, artisans, and design enthusiasts, with all levels of experience, students or professionals.
