AECB CarbonLite™ Retrofit Coordination Course

About the institution

The Association for Environment Conscious Building (AECB) is run by its members and is an independent, non-profit organisation, providing news, support, building standards on green building.

About the course

AECB CarbonLite™ Retrofit Coordination course has become part of a partially funded programme for those who reside in England to gain a Level 5 Diploma in Retrofit Coordination and Risk Assessment, in order to become an accredited Retrofit Coordinator. This limited opportunity involves a two-phase approach, with this course as the first phase, and then a separate accreditation phase following completion of the course. This course can be completed as an unfunded course (no Level 5 Diploma) as well.

This advanced retrofit training has been developed to provide an in-depth knowledge of the PAS 2035 process. Aim is to provide proficiency in retrofit coordination and help effect deep and lasting change in the building design and construction industry, to achieve a zero carbon future.

The course is aimed at those already familiar with retrofit and project management. Students will need to be familiar with domestic construction techniques, able to read and understand construction drawings and specifications, be familiar with the Building Regulations and with construction health and safety regulations and practice, and have experience/understanding of project management (e.g., management of finances, contracts and the work of contractors).
