A doctoral candidate position in Social Geography and Urban Studies at the University of Zurich is open for applications, focusing on the project “The Home-Debt Nexus: Feminist perspectives on housing, gender, and everyday life.” This project investigates women’s challenges at the intersection of housing, indebtedness, and homemaking, exploring their responses and the geographical/material conditions involved.
The candidate will conduct qualitative research on female-headed households in Latin American cities, collaborating with researchers from various universities upon receipt of funding. Responsibilities include developing and implementing a research project, participating in workshops/conferences, and contributing to teaching/administration.
Applicants should have a strong background in human geography or related fields, proficiency in qualitative research methods, and fluency in English and Spanish.
The position offers a fixed workplace, participation in the Graduate School of Geography, flexible working hours, secure funding for four years, and a supportive academic environment. The salary follows Swiss National Science Foundation regulations.
