UMA seeks a PhD student in Architecture focusing on Critical Studies in Architecture and Urbanism by April 28, 2024. The project explores how societal issues like inequalities, ageing population, and mental health are spatially translated and theorizes architectural agency. The research group, “Infrastructures of care: architecture, liveable lives and just environments,” investigates the spatial, social, cultural, and political dimensions of architecture and urbanism, emphasizing care broadly defined. The doctoral student will have significant input into the project’s direction, exploring discursive, performative, and speculative aspects of architecture and urbanism in relation to infrastructures of care and urgent societal issues.
